Promising Previews of the New Looney Tunes

Back in April, we mentioned that Bugs Bunny and pals were getting another reboot — this time as a half-hour show on the Cartoon Network. Justifiably, people have been a little skeptical hearing about Bugs and Daffy in a suburban setting and CGI Roadrunner Cartoons.

Regardless of that apprehension, the first scenes and clips are showing up…and they have promise. Jerry Beck of Cartoon Brew has some exclusives:

I was invited to a screening this past week to preview the three new CGI Road Runner-Coyote shorts for theatrical release — and my verdict is in: They’re terrific!

Read his whole interview at his website, but here’s a short clip from the short.

The two caveats so far is that these cartoons are only three minutes long, which is even shorter than the originals. The other is that Coyote Falls will be first shown before Cats and Dogs 2 in theaters this weekend.

In other news, there’s going to be a Cats and Dogs 2 in theaters this weekend.

The other clip of the new show is more of a promo:

Even though Daffy’s joke at the end sounded too much like a Family Guy joke, I’m hopeful.
