The Kingdom of God

This concerns a video that has been making the rounds in the blogosphere, so you may have already seen it. If not, please take a few minutes to see a modern-day parable.

Jesus loved to tell stories of what the Kingdom of God was like, and here’s a glimpse from the other day. This is the grace we’ve been told about on a small scale, yet may think is much more limited. This is the loving Father who is slow to anger and abounding in love. The myth of a God who is withholding from His child because she isn’t perfect is not an image we see here.

There’s a lot more at Ponder Anew, where author David Head adds this wonderful note:

God is the Father, whose capacity for laughing grace and mercy is more astonishing than we dare dream. And that love is at the core of everything we call “Christian” or label “gospel”.
