More Weird Al News – Visit Al’s Brain!

As if spoofing Craigslist and The Doors in one song wasn’t enough, Al’s devised a way to let people get into his brain:

The 2009 OC Super Fair will debut a new themed attraction and exhibit on the human brain called “Al’s Brain – A 3-D Journey Through The Human Brain with ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic.”

More than 400,000 fairgoers are expected to visit the “Al’s Brain” attraction at the OC Fair in 2009, after which it will travel to other fairs, festivals and science centers throughout the world. Yankovic’s longtime manager, Jay Levey, originally conceived of the attraction and serves as its producer.

Al did a lot of work toward this, and I think it helps show why the guy is such a class act. He’s been at this for almost 30 years, and there’s nary a bad word about him except from guys named Coolio. He gets that he’s popular with kids, yet doesn’t seem to see this as a deficit to his career even if his first fans are happily passing along their original albums to their own children. I hope that this attraction makes its way across the country to other State Fairs.

Here’s a promo video for those of us nowhere near California this summer:
