“Minority Report” Technology — I’ll take their word for it.

Those who saw “Minority Report” will have to vouch for this thing’s authenticity, but I saw a video of this demo from a link someone sent me.  It’s a prototype of an experimental device one can wear that, in their words “paves the way for profound interaction with our environment. Imagine “Minority Report” and then some.”

It is pretty impressive: Look up info online on a person you just met. Take a picture by just making a frame with your hands. Use your hand to project the dailpad for a cell phone. Read the newspaper and have video superimposed over it. Draw a circle on your wrist and check the time. While I’m not 100% sold on the usefulness of this thing, they claim it can already be done for about $350 using existing equipment.

Check out the video for yourself, or just download it from their site

It does make me think of a handful (okay, a lot) of Sci-Fi and fantasy stories.
