Star Wars vs. Star Trek

Star Trek vs Star WarsThe epic, age-old debate rages on.  Thanks to somebody more creative than me (or at least with way more time on their hands) we know how it turns out. (Though I like them both, I have my personal preference; either way, I think fans of each will find something to enjoy in this video.)

This is actually pretty funny, especially if you’re familiar with the original material to see how and where some of it has been chopped up, repurposed, and blatantly used out of context.  It’s very clever, and there are some subtle touches that make it even better than face value would suggest.

Of course, my wife just rolls her eyes at the whole thing, and I don’t blame her one bit.  But if you feel you’re secure in your geekiness, then proceed and enjoy!

Unrelated: I thought of your literature focused writing when I read this: Reading is for Boys (part 2)

What do you think of his lists?

Hey, J Pilgrim! Great question, and thanks for the link. I’m very interested in responding and will do so in a new blog post (hopefully this weekend). Thanks!

I really enjoyed this. Particularly Data losing it about lasers. That was pretty awesome.

Why didn’t they just reconfigure the deflector grid to emit a tachyon beam to cancel out Darth Vader’s Force powers? It works with everything else.

Of course! Reconfigure the deflector grid — especially if it involves tachyons. That solves everything. Always has, always will.
