Another list of things worth checking out.

Why Star Trek fans cans relax: Some reasons why the new movie should be pretty good.  The link also has some more new pictures from the film, as does this one.  Also, Geeks of Doom has info galore (including some spoilers) about the movie.

Speaking of movies…Sherlock Holmes!: A movie that’s had me watching its development (though I’ve been silent on the blog so far) is this new Sherlock Holmes movie.  The main point of interest for me is Robert Downey, Jr., as the titular character.  The pictures are just now slowly starting to trickle out, but with the release date set for just over a year from now (November 20, 2009) I’m sure the updates will be coming more quickly.

Speaking of Robert Downey, Jr…Iron Man 2!: The web has been buzzing with controversy over the re-casting of Jim Rhodes, but Iron Man 2 is moving forward, with a predicted release of May 7, 2010.

Watchmen spoilers: If you’ve read the novel and want some dirt on how well the filmmakers are doing adapting it, here are some quotes by people who have seen early screenings.  If you haven’t read the novel, don’t click.  Spoilers galore…duh.

Coraline teaser: I just finished reading Neil Gaiman’s fairy tale Coraline (and will be reviewing it soon, hopefully), and was pleased to see this trailer.  Also, here’s a cool featurette about the book/movie.

Speaking of Neil Gaiman…The Graveyard Book!: Yep, it seems Hollywood is figuring out that Neil is a good writer and want to adapt all his stuff in a short span.  The Graveyard Book hasn’t been out long, but already this Jungle Book-based tale is being put to film.

I’ll relax when I actually get to see the new Trek movie and can verifiably say that it is awesome.

Coraline, however, I’m very confident is going to be cool. From the previews I saw, it seems like the director has a good grasp on the tone of the book.
