Links This Week (9/30/08)

What?  Whoever said it had to be a weekly feature? :-)

Iron Man Deleted & Extended Scenes: With the second-best movie of the summer on DVD today, it’s only fitting to spotlight some of the extras we’ll be seeing.  Watch ‘em before getting the DVD!

Rorschach Pickets FOX: With all the lawsuit craziness, Watchmen’s best-recognized costumed vigilante has had enough.

Watchmen Lawsuit Makes Progress: Speaking of the lawsuit, it seems like we might be getting closer to FOX’s motivations here.  (And if that’s the case, then Warner Bros., please just let it go.  A forty year old television property is not worth the bank you’ll pull in with this movie.)

Transformers 2 Updates: Thanks yet again to BamKapow for this new info about the movie’s characters (including an item that confirms this post).

Director found for Thor movie?:  In an odd bit of news, it seems that none other than Kenneth Branagh could be slated to direct the film adaptation of Marvel’s Norse God of Thunder.

Want to join the Evil League of Evil?: The organization from Dr. Horrible fame is now accepting your applications (don’t know about Dr. Horrible?  Check out this post).

Dekker/Peretti’s House is a movie: Thriller-meisters Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti teamed up a few years back on a novel called House that I never read.  Now, I think I might have to.  The book is a movie coming soon, and the trailer is out.  A Christian movie…rated R?  Interesting…and creepy!

John Carter to finally make it to film?: Pixar seems to be slated to helm the first film adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs John Carter of Mars series.  Yes, the creator and author of all the Tarzan adventures wrote other things, and fans have been waiting for a while.  Disturbingly, the proposed director says he’s planning to adapt what he “remembers more than what they exactly do” in the books.  I love Pixar, but hasn’t Hollywood learned yet that these days, the more faithful an adaptation is, the happier the audiences are?
