Halo Mythbusters (and some other stuff)

I love Mythbusters.  It’s one of my favorite shows on the Discovery Channel — equal parts informative and entertaining, if not always scientifically accurate.

Taking that brilliant concept into the world of Halo and Xbox Live is this video testing various widespread claims about what is (or isn’t) possible in Master Chief’s domain.  Even if you’re not into Halo, some of the idiosyncrasies are kind of surprising!  A peek at the video, plus some news, after the jump.

That’s the first episode, but so far there are three total.

In other Halo-related news, Bungie got everyone worked up on the anniversary of Halo 3’s release with a teaser and a tagline (“Prepare to Drop”) for what looks like an expansion (rumored and reported here and here) to the game.  The expansion doesn’t appear to star Master Chief, but instead perhaps one of the UNSC’s Orbital Shock Drop Troopers.  Blah blah blah…ultimately, it looks like a sweet addition to the franchise, and a fun new angle, too.  GameSpot has the trailer, links, and a much more in-depth breakdown for those interested.

Who’s excited?
