Transformers 2: Is This Megatron?

If you’re an ’80’s junkie who, like me, enjoyed Transformers last summer, you watched Megatron “die” at the end of the movie and knew, just knew that that wasn’t really the end.  I mean, it never is.

As I’ve mentioned before (here and here), Transformers 2 is in production, and (saddled with the subtitle Revenge of the Fallen) will be rolling into theaters June 26, 2009.  Already the film seems to be following Comic Book Maxim #1: “Nobody is necessarily dead forever.”

Latino Review has gotten their hands on what might be early images of Megatron in a new “Hey, guys, I’m a tank!” form.  The seem pretty accurate, and since Paramount hasn’t taken them down yet, it either means they’re fake, or they’re part of some carefully planned leak-based viral publicity.

They look pretty genuine to me.  See what you think (more pics via the link above).
