Snake Eyes. Whoa.

Technically, I was never allowed to watch G.I. Joe growing up, so I’m not really as familiar with the characters as a lot of people.

However, I have read some of the more recent comics, and really, there are some things about which you can’t go through life without picking up a little knowledge here and there. It’s because of those two things, and my general geekiness for things both comics and ’80′s nostalgia, that I’m looking forward to the upcoming G.I. Joe movie (despite the appropriate controversy surrounding the acronym change).

I mean, how can you not when the first stills released are of Snake Eyes, and they look like this?

Side by side with some original comic art. I think they got it right, don’t you?

Even better, Snake Eyes is being played by Ray Park, better known as Darth Maul from Star Wars: Episode 1 and Toad from X-Men. We know the guy’s got moves, and now he’s playing the world’s coolest ninja.

Okay, that’s enough geeking for now. Especially since my last post was geeking out about Firefly less than an hour ago.

(Thanks to ComingSoon for the film stills.)
