It’s real.
In this article at CNet, we learn that apparently Microsoft has taken some anonymous (hmm, really?) statistics from Messenger users and discovered that the average separation between random users is 6.6 divisions. In other words, if you pick two random people who have never met, you can connect them within 6.6 friends of friends.
Why I’m actually explaining this, I don’t know. Doesn’t everybody know about six degrees of separation?
Anyway, while this is ultimately cool news to finally have this somewhat legitimately proved, I just have to ask why it took this long to do it!
