Thou Shalt Smoke A Bowl

Apparently, some people will try anything to explain away the Bible.  Latest idea: Moses was stoned when all those miracles happened.  The Ten Commandments?  The burning bush?  All the result of an acid trip.

So says this guy, anyway.

My favorite line from the article: “Moses was probably also on drugs when he saw the ‘burning bush,’ suggested Shanon, who said he himself has dabbled with such substances.”

Ha.  I’ll bet he has.

I must have missed something in my reading of the Pentateuch – about where in the whole detailed worship of the Lord as He laid it out He wanted the halucinogens to come into play. Guess I’d better go back and bone up a bit.

As far Moses on Mount Sinai is concerned, it was either a supernatural cosmic event, which I don’t believe, or a legend, which I don’t believe either…

Therein lies the problem. People with psychology degrees should know about the confirmation bias, or tendency to interpret information in a way that confirms what you already believe.

This merely confirms my belief that the liberal media is out to get me.
