So Many TVs, So Little Time…

Perhaps you’ve heard of a little device called a TV-B-Gone? It’s a tiny gadget that, I believe, is equipped to cycle through the various signals and frequencies used by the various arrays of televisions and remote controls out there. The express purpose of these doohickeys is to shut off unwanted televisions — you know, the intrusive kind that seem to be mounted on the walls of every store and restaurant you enter anymore.

While utilizing it for that purpose is a pleasing, though somewhat dubious, proposition to me, a few slightly unscrupulous mischief lovers took it to the next level at the recent Consumer Electronics Show. You know, the kind of symposium where there are lots and lots of TVs in use…

Again, probably not an undertaking to which I would have felt comfortable giving the okay, but the prankster in me finds this hilarious all the same. At least, for the first little bit. I don’t know…maybe after a while it’s a bit overdone?
