…I hope the rumors are true.
No, I’m not talking about all the J.J. Abrams Star Trek casting rumors, although they are juicy.
What I’m referring to comes from the recent report that the X-men spinoff movie, Wolverine, is filming partially in New Orleans. Given that one particularly ragin’ Cajun (who’s never yet appeared on screen, despite fan outcry) is from New Orleans, speculation is already running rampant that Gambit might possibly (finally) appear in this film.
Added to that is the fact that one “LOST” castaway, Josh Holloway, was all set to play Gambit in X-men: The Last Stand until his “LOST” shooting schedule got in the way. I really can’t think of too many actors that could pull off a southern scoundrel with a heart of gold the same way Josh Holloway can. Here’s hoping that all these rumors and prior facts come together to pay off for us in May of 2009…
