A quote from Indiana Jones, sure, but relevant in this case to “24.” Those not interested in what could potentially be considered spoiler info about “Day 7″ of Fox’s hit show should stop reading now. However, as this was released in an official press release, it’s probably not hidden info, and will likely show up in the show’s promos.
Still with me? Okay. Here’s the clip from the press release:
“Day 7″ of “24″ will continue the show’s unique and trend-setting format with compelling new elements. With CTU dismantled, the show’s setting moves to Washington, DC, where Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) faces trial for his actions in the pursuit of justice. Bauer’s day gets off to a shocking start when former colleague Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard), last seen in “Day 5,” returns after being left for dead by a terrorist conspirator in CTU’s infirmary.
Tony’s not dead (hooray!)? CTU dismantled? Washington, D.C.? Wow! I hope these aren’t just gimmicks that the writers and producers are hoping will jump start the show after a lackluster last couple of seasons. Hopefully they are really good plot elements that will truly rejuvenate the show. Let me tell ya…my wife and I are making our way through “Day 3″ at the moment, and goodness, the show used to be way better than it is now. Here’s hoping for “Day 7!”
Pardon the link fest, but…in other television news, check out “Survivor: China” tomorrow night when it premieres. One of the contestants (Leslie) is a Christian radio host. I saw a clip on YouTube today, and she’s going to have her faith tested pretty early on. A prayer request from her sister (who lives in town) came in to the station today asking for prayer that Leslie (and her faith) would be truthfully and fairly represented in the editing process.
Happy viewing!
My guess is that the whole thing is a Jack Bauer dream. And it’s used to make half the season a clip show. And then then he’ll wake up in the Chinese prison between seasons 5 and 6, nearly escape, only to be recaptured (as we know he has to) at the end. Or he could escape because it’s revealed in the second to last episode he’s used advanced technology to travel through time. But there wouldn’t be a point to time traveling back to when you were in prison, so forget that.
In regards to your “they don’t make them like they used to.” I have to agree. While I may be a bit more jaded than the average viewer, I’m really hoping something changes this season, because I’m starting to feel like we do the same thing every season, except a different threat. Kiefer, don’t disappoint me this season.
We caught the Survivor premiere last night. Didn’t start with a “bang” like I was hoping, but still looks like this could be a tense season.
