Sorry about that…missed a day. Life happens!
I promised more seafood on the menu for this update. Part of the delay in making this post was finding the song to get the audio. However, I’ve got it.
There’s a new artist out named John Waller. He’s got some cool songs, and the song in question is definitely one of them. It’s a fantastic personal application of the parable of the prodigal son. However, I noticed in a recent listening of the song that one of its early lyrics could be mis-heard.

Now obviously John says I’ve known shame that/ no child of His should know. The way it runs together, though, sounds like “no child of fish” or even “no child or fish.” I didn’t realize that fish felt shame; I suppose maybe children of fish do, perhaps…
Moving on. The “mythological” entry I promised is from Starfield in their song “Filled With Your Glory:”

The whole earth is filled with your glory, Lord/ Angels and minotaurs…wait, what? That’s what one listener heard (and I guess I don’t blame him), but once again…context! Still funny, but angels and men adore does sound better, though.
That’ll do it for this edition. More to come over the weekend! And keep sending ideas if you’ve got ‘em.
I have been trying to think of a song since you’ve started doing this, but had some difficulty. On my way home from church today I heard a perfect example. Michael W. Smith’s “Place in This World”. When I was younger we used to make fun of it becuase in some parts it sounds like he’s singing about “My FACE in this world.” I’ll keep my ears tuned for more!
That’s funny, because Mark Lowry actually made a parody of “Place in This World” called “Face in This World.” YouTube has the video here!
That is definitely a great video. Thanks for sharing it!
